To me this sounds like you're saying that this default is good for *you*,
not that this default is good for Python.  Try to use this binding globally,
you'll probably like it.

One of the things we try to do when we integrate packages in Emacs is to try
and make sure there is some minimum amount of consistency between those
packages by following some loose conventions.  The fact that some related
major mode has chosen a different default only matters if it doesn't go
against those conventions.
