I did this because it turns out to be useful.
If a specific caller wants some other mode, it's easy to switch.
So this causes no problem.
Most likely the best way to make it
cleaner is to start by renaming with-output-to-temp-buffer: the buffer isn't
temporary (at least not in the usual sense, as in with-temp-buffer).
There is no need for that incompatibility, and I don't want it.
There isn't a problem here. Please let's work on improvements
that will really make Emacs better, not on this area.
etc/TODO lists so many things that need to be done.
