    Really?  I have it enabled for all my Emacs installations because I
    cannot stand the way buffer contents are updated during scrolling if
    it is not.  I'd appreciate it to become a defcustom.

I'd like to understand what it's for and how it works. That is my main
point: please enhance the doc a bit. Thx.
