Right, this time it didn't work for me as well at the first try,
probably because I didn't wait until the window of the *compilation*
buffer was completely filled. But even then you should see this
effect when you type M-< and M-> repeatedly, or C-SPC and M-> while
the compilation still grinds on. You should get a - as in my case -
green background in the *compilation* buffer.
