IIRC that was fixed by Chong and it did work in September. I gave up on using
mouse-avoidance-mode a few weeks ago, since it was more often a nuisance than
helpful. There were 2 things that come to my mind:
1. sometimes the pointer is moved outside the window, e.g. into the mode-line
or tool bar and this causes inadvertent tool tip pop-ups.
2. Sometimes when I tried to place the pointer with the mouse right at the
position where the cursor resided, then avoidance-mode immediately moved
the pointer away again.
I can turn it on again and play a bit with it next week.
