    It sounds like you are suggesting more items for the menu with unclear doc
    strings.  What are you suggesting?

Someone else suggested it.  I'm saying I'm not against it.

Could you fix the doc string of the command that sets truncate-lines
in the current buffer, so that it clearly says it applies
to the current buffer?

    Part of the problem I experienced with info is that it sets the value of
    case-fold-search (in Info-mode and Info-find-node-in-buffer).  I think it
    should just bind it temporarily, if needed, and operations like 
isearch-forward
    should work according to _my_ preference.

I don't have any objection to that, but let's not change it now.
