Mule-diag fail in GNU Emacs 23.0.0 with "Invalid code(s)"

Hello!

Launching GNU Emacs 23.0.0 with -Q and choosing from the menu Options  
-> MULE -> Show All of MULE Staus or directly invoking mule-diag  
leads to *Backtrace* buffer with:

        Debugger entered--Lisp error: (error "Invalid code(s)")

*Messages* just contains
