Emacsclient don't just open files -- the user has to request that somehow.

Also, most commands in Emacs will interrupt isearch.

So I see NO reason for Emacsclient not to interrupt isearch.

Let's make that change, and get on with the release!

Seconded.  I find myself unable to comprehend Richard's rationale for
a different behavior here.

I agree too. The file is open through Emacsclient is still opened by a user decision and action.
