I just tried to delete the contents of my *shell* buffer with C-x h C-w,
because it was getting too big.
The buffer appeared empty, so I guessed it had worked.
Later, I tried hitting return to get a new prompt and saw:
We should fix that not to get an error at all.
There is no reason why it has to fail.
Would someone like to debug this?
