This is the first time I send a bug report so please forgive me if I
committed important information.
This is Emacs23 CVS checkout on Wed Apr 11 12:37:53 UTC 2007 of the
emacs-unicode-2 branch.
The system is OpenSUSE 10.0 x86_64 KDE 3.4.2
When running emacs emacs -Q --enable-font-backend --font "Courier
new:pixelsize=14" the background of the text is different than the
background of the rest of the window as can be seen in the attached
image.
I tried the recommendations mentioned in etc/PROBLEMS "KDE: When
running on KDE, colors or fonts are not as specified for Emacs", but
using without sucsess (if changing ~/.Xdefaults or Emacs.ad, it only
effects the text background.
Please let me know how to continue testing this.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.0.17 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.8.3)
of 2007-04-11 on borsood
Windowing system distributor `The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.60802000
configured using `configure '--with-gtk' '--enable-font-backend'
'--with-xft=yes''
