Fonts do not work correctly in cc-mode

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Quite often, but not always, cc-mode does not fontify the "head" of a
function definition correctly.

"uint8 CheckIE_ActivateUTC_Req" is black. I want "uint8" to be green
and "CheckIE_ActivateUTC_Req" to be blue.

If I use M-x font-lock-fontify-buffer when I see this, emacs will
fontify it correctly. If I add a space somewhere inside
CheckIE_ActivateUTC_Req and then immediately delete it, emacs will
also fontify it correctly.


If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
   `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
