See two attached images. In Emacs 22 (all recent builds), this is
displays correctly. In Emacs 23: 1) Each character appears as an empty
rectangle.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file
c:/Emacs-23-2007-01-02/etc/DEBUG for instructions.
