Right - I use planner-goto-today.  I don't call plan after the first
invocation.

However, for various reasons I often have more then one emacs open.
Having plan run in each invocation makes a mess.  Thats why I don't
put (plan N) in my .emacs

I think your syntax is fine.  However, I am also fine with my little
work-around function.
