My current workaround is to use bbdb:// links to refer to places with
addresses. To make this more usable (readable) I'm thinking about using a
different link type (maybe address:// ?) to the same bbdb data, just to make
it clear that I'm linking to the address/place, not primarily to the
organisation/person that might be connected with it.

For non-address, geographic locations there are numerous possibilities,
research is ongoing. (He does it nicely: see http://norman.walsh.name/coverage
