Hmmm. We haven't had this kind of fatal bug report on XEmacs, and I'd
hate to think it's some kind of interaction with your beloved xwem,
but maybe... ? Nah.
planner-save-buffers really shouldn't be doing anything fancy. Could
you (setq debug-on-quit t), M-x planner-save-buffers, interrupt the
loop with C-g, and send me the backtrace? Thanks!
