No, it was stupider than that.  Somewhere along the line I seem to
inadvertantly joined lines and then broken it in the middle of the joined 
line.Something like this:

  #A1 _ yadda yadda yadda#A2 _yadda yadda
  yadda

As soon as I saw that and fixed it (which wasn't until about an hour
later), everything worked as normal.  Of course, by then, I completely
forgot i had posted here... Sorry for the noise.
