i haven't had much time to fully review this commit... but what i  
seen looked good. i *love* the Flu example!

a few LaTeX notes though:
 - don't be too concerned with formatting. things like linebreaks.  
its best not to clutter the text with format commands.

 - please use \ref for referencing tables and \eqref for equations.  
i noticed you use "in Table 1". but "Table 1" will be in another  
chapter :-)

what would you like to edit next? same file or something new?
