    It has a .pfb suffix and this is not recognised by my mac. Is there  
    any way I can convert this font so that I can install the font onto  
    my machine.

Sorry, I can't.  I have no idea what font conversion utilities would be
needed on a Mac.  Nothing in the GNU fontutils package (where you wrote :)
is going to help.

I can only suggest asking in a Mac-specific help forum, perhaps with the
name of the font, the MacOS version you're using, etc.
