Hello,

I have added the complete Ethiopic range to FreeSerif font. The fonts are
originating from Metafont
<ftp://ftp.dante.de/tex-archive/language/ethiopia/ethiop/>, and were
prepared by Berhanu Beyene <address@hidden>, Prof. Dr.
Manfred Kudlek <address@hidden>, Olaf Kummer
<address@hidden>, and Jochen Metzinger <?> from the
Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science department, University of
Hamburg. The current version (0.7) is released under GNU GPL. I converted
the fonts to Type 1 format using Péter Szabó's TeXtrace program
<http://www.inf.bme.hu/~pts/textrace/> and removed some redundant control
points with PfaEdit. The faces are still rather rough and could use more
optimization.

Other than this, I am close to completing the Latin Extended-B and IPA
Extensions ranges with FreeMono (upright and oblique), and a little
further away from this goald with FreeMonoBold. Other faces haven't seen
much progress lately.

I have converted the currents state of fonts to TrueType and uploaded the
archive to <http://freesoftware.fsf.org/download/freefont/>, if anyone
wants to play with it.

With kind regards, Primoz.
