Hi,
Characters in the private area obviously seemed a good idea to me at
some time, although I don't think I could give now a decent rationale
for it. One reason was surely the dotless j, and the Indic characters
probably ended up there because I toyed with the opentype ligature
mechanism.
The numerals in the Adobe private area are probably the "old style"
numerals (e.g., 9 with a descender etc.)
