[FR-devel] Update -- Windows Threading Problem

From: Curt Hibbs

I must have been tired when I proof read my posting below -- I changed the
word "would" to "won't" to restore my original intent...

Also, if anyone has a copy of BoundsChecker I could use, it would be greatly
appreciated.

Curt

Its a really tough nut to crack (especially without some decent tools, like
BoundsChecker). I'm about 80% sure that the problem is in FOX and not in
Ruby.

I've been through the Ruby threading code pretty thoroughly. I've added my
own code to save off copies of critical data structures and compare them to
their originals just before failure to see if any of the data is being
overwritten.

For the last couple weeks, and at least the next week I won't have any time
to spend on it due to extreme deadline pressures at work. Does anyone has a
copy of BoundsChecker that I could "borrow".

Its been frustrating to me not to be able to run and see the FreeRIDE code!
If I was still working out of my home I would install Linux under VMWare on
my main development machine. But my current contract is onsite work, and my
notebook uses a Transmeta Crusoe CPU which VMWare does not seem to like.
Arrrg!

Curt
