Creating an outline containing the outline of an outline, so to speak, is
rather difficult. But to draw the outline of a character in a simple but
slow way, you just draw the character 9 times with the origin at every
position in a 3 x 3 square. Draw the character in the central position in
the background colour; draw the other copies in the foreground colour.
