[Freetype] demo programs

Hi

Can any one over there please tell me how to compile demo programs.
I tried compiling the demo programs under my home/ft2demos-2.0.4 but I am
getting the following message

Please Compile the library before the demo programs

where as I already compiled freetype2 library which is under my
home/freetype-2.0.4 
 I did the following for that

        make
        make
        make install
