Sounds like a good excuse to do something locally down here in Devon.

Although it does sounds a bit like "tax freedom day", the day in the
year proportional to the percentage of your income you pay in tax, or as
the BBC put it "the day you stop working for the government and start
working for yourself".  31st May in 2005 for those who care.
