Ahoy,

I don't think the 'AFFS workings' thread (was 'Resignation from AFFS 
committee') is very productive... at least, it isn't generating any kind of 
consensus on what I think is the key issue:

- What are the AFFS' goals, how should the AFFS best achieve its goals, and   
  where does the structure of committee & membership fit into that? -

The thread, and others recently, have discussed the kinds of activities the 
AFFS committee members have pursued, where the money is going, who the AFFS 
does and doesn't support. Can we move on from bickering around personal 
issues in the past to try and form some consensus on these issues, or agree 
to start building up to a proper discussion about them at the AGM?

The thread has also been dominated by posts from a few people, mostly ex- or 
current committee members. It'd be good to have this discussion in a wider 
context. The AFFS lists are already frequented by a small minority of free 
software users, contributors & advocates from the UK. Recent threads have 
only made this worse, in my opinion.
