I'm not sure about that... I suspect they're simply trying to migrate
their userbase from a bug-ridden, virus infested platform that sometimes
struggles to get through firewalls to one that doesn't have those
problems (yet).
They will doubtless be pleased to be able to sell call credits and I'm
sure they will use the technology to leverage other advantages but
overall I think this is just part of a general thrust towards
non-rubbish software (Win8 excepted, naturally).
