I have a feeling that there was free software before RMS started the free software movement and I think there's no need to give in to pressure of one free software group who wants to keep the name for themselves. There must be better way of solving this.

RMS came up with term Free Software!  It didn't change to mean something
philosophical, it was from the start.  The article was saying that the
term is being used when a group or event isn't with this philosophy.
