[Gambit-users] installation problems with linux

when i run ./configure i get this message. 
checking for wxconfig... no
checking for wxwindows version >= 2.3.2 ... no
configure: error: 
           Please check that wx-config is in path, the directory
           where wxWindows libraries are installed (returned by
           'wx-config --libs' command) is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH or
           equivalent variable and wxWindows is version 2.3.2 or above.
   

I tried installing wxGTK 2.3.3 and run the ./configure.

Now this installation wxGTK installs the libraries in /usr/lib. Are the 
versions compatible. Or do i need to find 2.3.2 version.
