[Gdb] stabs section of gcc compiled file

Hello Friends, 

    This group may not be appropriate to post my doubt
but i am unable to find in gnu site. 

    Can anybody tell me how to read stab information
in a gcc compiled file. I cant get info about stab
sections in TISs ELF file format specification.
Atleast give me links where i can fins some useful
info about stabs.
