You are right, GetFem++ is designed more from a PDE perspective.
The finite elements method does not depend on a specific model.
I guess that in order to model your trusses you need 1D beam elements ?
In fact, we did not define such elements yet in Getfem++.
We planed to do it more than once ... but it is still not done.
