Wow, my proposal has received better critique than I would have
expected!
I'll start getting in touch with hotels, hostels, etc. in the area and
see what feedback I get. I'll keep you posted.
My parents say (and they're right) that the cost of any accommodation
in the city dramatically increases in summer so I should
watch out for this. In the event that the price exceeds some
reasonable amount I shall start looking in nearby towns.
John/Alex, is it okay if I get in touch with either of you off-list to
ask some specific questions on how you managed the logistics for last
GHM?
Thanks.

I just looked up the place. Sounds great. It would be a nice place to
host the
next GHM.
Would it be possible to have a single venue + accommodation setting,
like what
we had in 2017? The response for that experiment was overwhelmingly
positive.
As long as possible, we should attempt to replicate it again.
Yes, this should be possible. I liked the setting too and would lean
towards doing that again.

I myself would be really happy if the event took place where I live

It's a mid-size city with a superb atmosphere and excellent places to
eat :)
Judging by what you said John, that the venue should be booked well
in advance I
think we're already a bit tight on schedule but if you want I can
give it a try
and see what places would potentially be available (already have some
in mind).
