All the test cases have an internal API, so they can be run
standalone. There is also some DejaGnu support built in for "make check"
using DejaGnu.swf, or dejagnu.as, or even the new DejaGnu extension.

What DejaGnu does provide is a higher level testing framework that
handles multiple sub directories, accumulating totals of test results,
consistent output, (XML output too for a database). So to run Gnash
tests, DejaGnu isn't required, but it does give one a better test run
experience. It's available for most all distributions, as it's used for
testing GCC/GDB/Binutils/Samba, etc.... I'm the primary author, so I
just use it out of habit for all my projects.
