Forget to cc this reply to the mailing list. I don't want people to worry about 
translations...

Empty strings (untranslated) just get left in the original language.

The missing %s is probably in a fuzzily translated string; someone
 added the %s since the last translation and msgmerge has noted it as
 possibly incorrect, which it is. That won't get translated either.

I don't think it's that serious that debugging strings don't get
 translated at the moment (unless someone *really wants* to do it :) ). I just
 added them for the GTK gui; practically all the other changes are from
 gettext.
