I belive it all started with Chad's new code in PropertyList, heavily
using templates. Might be wrong though...
Could be interesting to compare full build times between 0.8.1 
and 0.8.2 ...

We probably also have more files now (more translation units)
which using libtool gives a fair amount of overhead (before
it gets to ccache at all..)

Would be worth figuring out one day, and plan some organic 
fix for it.
