This patch leaves a stale 'cerr' file around after configure.
Even if there's no error, or if the error is not critical.
That file should be removed always, not just on nogo.
A trap on exit would be ideal, if portable enough.
Otherwise, make clean should get rid of it, or distcheck fails.
