Follow-up Comment #15, bug #25456 (project gnash):

Neither sdl-gnash nor gtk-gnash nor flashplayerdebugger would exit by
themselves, and the SWF itself doesn't seem to have an explicit quit request
within 30 seconds, let alone 2 seconds.

What are you timing there ?

One thing I noticed is that with GST media the animation starts later than
with FFMPEG media, can you see that ? You can select with -M switch.
