Follow-up Comment #2, bug #45722 (project gnash):

I tested on an older system and found that Gnash 0.8.10 played both
`pcmplay.swf` and `pcmplay-stereo.swf` smoothly, without any screech.

Gnash: 0.8.10 (source)
SDL: libsdl1.2debian 1.2.14-6.1 (debian)
FFmpeg: libavcodec52 4:0.5.10-1 (debian), libavformat52 4:0.5.10-1 (debian),
libavutil49 4:0.5.10-1 (debian)
GStreamer: libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.30-1 (debian)
System: Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 Squeeze i386
