Follow-up Comment #3, bug #40487 (project gnash):

Note (as a reminder):
The committed patch #8752 makes command line-specified logging verbosity
*override* the configuration file-specified one.

It doesn't provide a way to _override verbosity *to zero*_ yet; due to
complications written on comment 1
<https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?40487#comment1> combined with the way Gnash
currently use libboost-program-options
<http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnash.git/tree/gui/gnash.cpp?id=f0f66ce7f644a631bbb5f51f78375298fdef3d40#n285>.
It may require a substantial change
to accommodate the inclusion of `-q`/`--quiet` switch.

Also, the logging verbosity slider in Edit > Preferences dialog won't show
the overridden verbosity yet. (It still show the value in configuration file)

Gnash: 0.8.11dev (git f0f66ce 23-Sep-2015)
System: Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 Wheezy i386
