The testsuite normally only tests the AGG renderer. I'm not sure how the testsuite can be coerced to test the Cairo renderer at present (merely altering testsuite/gnashrc seems to have no effect). Still, you can expect a lot of failures with testing Cairo, because it has received relatively little attention. But at least you could ascertain whether your patch introduces new failures. Bastiaan
