Hi all,

I installed gns on the Lemote Fuloong Mini. I can boot the system with
pmon, however grub is not yet usable. That is, selecting the Grub line
from the /boot/boot.cfg file displays an empty screen.

The packages installed are grub-common 1.98-20091212-2 and grub-yeeloong
1.98-20091212-2 (I am not sure if grub-yeeloong is the adequate
package).

The configuration in /boot/boot.cfg related to the grub menu is:

title Boot with GRUB
        kernel (wd0,0)/boot/grub.elf
        args some-dummy-string

which is the same as on my Yeeloong laptop.

The  /etc/default/grub has following parameters:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="console=tty no_auto_cmd resume=/dev/sda5

/dev/sda5 being the swap partition

I didnt specifty a "machtype" parameter, not knowing if it's required or
not and what is the correct value. For the record, the Yeeloong laptop
requires the parameter "machtype=8.9").

One difference I noticed between the Yeeloong laptop and the Fuloong
Mini lies in the /boot/grub/devices.map file. On the laptop, it has the
line:
(ata0)  /dev/hda
whereas it's
(ata0)  /dev/sda
on the Fuloong Mini.
I changed the /dev/sda to /dev/hda but it didnt help.

Desinstalling grub-yeeloong doesnt help either, then this package
provides update-grub.

For the record, update-grup displays a few errors related to
the /dev/sda2 partition (whis is my extended partition). This ends with:

>>>WARNING<<< Wrong ufstype may corrupt your filesystem, default is
ufstype=old
attempt to access beyond end of device
sda2: rw=0 want=18 limit=12

Not sure if this error in the FS is related with the grub configuration.
Anyway, my next attempt is to repeat the installation of gns, with a new
repartitioning.

Regards

Samy
