I have commented on this bug.
>From my reading of the linked debian bugs, this is the situation in a
nutshell:
wodim/cdrkit *is* free for use as of version 5.1.0 final
5.1.0~pre4 (which the bug is opened against) is *not* free.
we have neither version that i can see in gnewsense.
if these are chosen to replace cdrtools, they will have to be
backported/built from outside the distro.
Debian (4.0) has 9:1.1.2-1
Ubuntu (7.04) 9:1.1.2-1
So both our upstreams have the same version in their latest stable
releases.
