I though that apt-get clean should empty these two cache files, but they
don't. What's the right way to use APT to clear the cache?
$ sudo apt-get clean && ls -lh /var/cache/apt/
total 19M
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 36K 2009-09-14 19:55 archives
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9.0M 2009-09-14 19:54 pkgcache.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9.0M 2009-09-14 18:53 srcpkgcache.bin
$ apt-cache policy apt
apt:
Installed: 0.7.20.2+lenny1
Candidate: 0.7.20.2+lenny1
