Am continuing to decipher my relationship to Orthodoxy, since I take my own dogmatic stances as seriously as they take theirs.
The poisoned precedents of old, and the disintegration of much of the Lutheran witness, have perhaps ruined beyond hope the prospect of union in a thoroughly 'evangelical catholic' way.
No other sport combines these so intensively. Some you, dear readers, may think this is pretty much par for the course, but few of you are in the neighborhood to see me getting pretty tightly wound.
I can and must do whatever pertains to it; the balance of necessity and possibility that I discover in my life has to be dealt with. It's a little bit of back-to-basics with Carl E. Capitalism has done all that Socialism threatened to do. Then we come to the farmlands, and the undeveloped areas. In every other way the unification and regimentation is already complete.
The ecclesiastical, organizational structures of Lutheranism are interim measures, ready to go out of business as soon as their provisional aims are realized. He moves everywhere in ruts; he always goes up to his work on rails.
I see the school and the houses where the kids are.
The guy spends more time on all fours than some goalies, I swear. Fact of the matter is, I'm not going to change the world, not the whole world or even the country or even much of it.
Yeah, I bet you think you're clever.
This simultaneous confirmation and denial is practically the whole life of Anglicanism right now.
