Hi everybody,

I am trying to connect a Nokia 3310 phone to my laptop using GNOKII (version
0.6.3). Since my laptot doesn't have an RS-232 serial port, I am using a Nokia
3310 USB data cable. On window$ (in which the cable is recognized as being
"Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge DAU-9P/FBUS"), I can access the phone using
several software, including Oxygen.It works fine!

But when it comes to Linux (Red Hat 9.0), I can't connect...I get a timeout
message when typing "#gnokii --identify"

Here is the debug output:
--------------------------------
GNOKII Version 0.6.3
LOG: debug mask is 0x1
Lockfile /var/lock/LCK..ttyUSB0 is stale. Overriding it..

Quitting.

-------------------------------

It seems the cable is detected, since dmesg shows the this lines:
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for PL-2303
usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter detected
usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)

Is the the problem related to the "connection" parameter in my .gnokiirc file?
(Please see it below). I tried to set the following values:
serial
dau9p
fbus (saw it in some links on the net, but gnokii does not recognize it)

This is my config file parameters values:
--------------------------
port = /dev/ttyUSB0
model = 3310
initlength = default
connection = serial
use_locking = yes
serial_baudrate = 19200
smsc_timeout = 10
bindir = /usr/local/sbin/
TELEPHONE = 12345678
debug = on
rlpdebug = off
xdebug = off
-----------------------------------

What is the problem supposed to be, and how can I solve it? Thank You in
advance.

Regards

/Eneas
