Well then presumably the software will go back into Debian when it's
been given a clean bill of health.  No big deal.

I'm part of Debian, and don't really consider myself part of the
"fundy" group (yes, there are some), but with beasts like SCO roaming
loose...  It makes sense to tread carefully.  The Apache Software
Foundation has also implemented safeguards against software with the
wrong copyright slipping into our work, too.  The Linux kernel has
also added some checks.  So a lot of people are getting tighter about
IP issues.  A pain, yes, a waste of time compared to hacking, yes,
but, sadly, necessary.
