If you delete /var/lock/LCK..ttyS0 as root and run gnokii only from the
web server (i.e., don't run it as another user), it should be able to
override the lock.
If you can ensure that no more than one gnokii process is accessing
ttyS0, you can disable locking as Paweł suggested. If you access the
phone each time a certain request is coming, then you have to think
about it even with locking enabled, since if two users make the same
request simultaneously, the phone is going to be busy with the first
coming request for some time.
