Hi,

> it is not smsd who inserts outgoing messages in the database
I know that. It is my program that inserts the message to mysql database table "outbox". In the outbox the message has the scandinavian characters correct. The database character collation is UTF8_general_ci. Also the column text is the same. I have also tested with character collation latin1_swedish_ci, but the result is the same. When sending, the smsd writes the whole message to log, so the characters are not cut in database.

Could the connection character collation cause this kind of problems? I mean that if connection collation is different that the column collation, so the ucs-convert does not recognize the character code correctly.

Yes, it was not in that log. It was another log I did not attach, sorry. I can provide one later, but actually the most important thing at the moment is to get the scandinavian characters also into the sent message.

Yes, I have noticed that. Unfortunately it does not suite my needs. I could test if using the file module does not cut the scands out, would it help to solve this case?

As I've told earlier, I appreciate Your help on this. And ofcourse, whether this problem is solved or not, I will make my yearly donation to this project.

Can You please tell me what I can do to get this problem solved?

One thing, I have added a extra feature to smsd: Limitation to sending - You can set amount of messages allowed to send in cumulative day count. For example with this feature, You are able to limit sms sending to 20 messages in 1 day (or any amount of days), count and day amount is ofcourse given in starting parameters.

Best regards
