Hello All,
I have just filed this as a minor feature request #6133
When patch is applied that removes files or directories, it should make
a backup whenever:
* it removes a modified file
* it removes a directory and there are some files remaining
It can cause problems, when one works on some changes while someone
reorganizes directories. We have just lost some work due to this.
By the way, it's really inconsistent with behavior when things are the
other way round. When non-existen file should be patched, the patch is
saved (though rarely useful). But when a modified file is removed, patch
is not saved (thoug that is more useful).
