speaking of which - from debian sid:
$ cm help
cm: config manager
usage:
cm [options] command config-file
commands: build cat update changes missing examine

thats (roughly, some extra sugar in there)
'buildcfg'
 'catcfg'
 'catcfg | xargs -d 2 | tla update -d', 
 'catcfg | xargs -d 2 | tla changes -d'
 'catcfg | xargs -d 2 | tla missing -d'
 catcfg -s <- but doesn't read a config at all, rather it just iterates
over the tree.
