Name: inventory cwd affects behaviour
Severity: serious
I spotted this one because the tla 1.2 tarball contains a spurious
file:
address@hidden:~/arch/dists/tla/tla-1.2$ tar ztf ../tla_1.2.orig.tar.gz | grep
orig
tla-1.2/src/hackerlab/{arch}/hackerlab/hackerlab--giles/hackerlab--giles--1.0/address@hidden/patch-log/patch-1.orig
This tarball was presumably created by feeding the output of
inventory -s --all --nested to tar, so I wondered how this
happened. Here's how:
address@hidden:~/tmp/tla-1.2$ tla inventory
src/hackerlab/{arch}/hackerlab/hackerlab--giles/hackerlab--giles--1.0/address@hidden/patch-log
| grep orig
S
src/hackerlab/{arch}/hackerlab/hackerlab--giles/hackerlab--giles--1.0/address@hidden/patch-log/patch-1.orig
address@hidden:~/tmp/tla-1.2/src/hackerlab/{arch}/hackerlab/hackerlab--giles/hackerlab--giles--1.0/address@hidden/patch-log$
tla inventory | grep orig
B patch-1.orig
Same file, different classification depending on where you run inventory.
[The point where it changes is between src/hackerlab and src/hackerlab/{arch}/]
